Martlets Defeat Pomfret on Record-Setting Day
On a perfect day for golf, the Martlet golfers put together an absolutely superb effort to shoot 179 (-1), setting an all-time school record for a 9-hole match. Leading the way for Westminster was Will McCarthy ‘25 who tied the all-time team record with a score of 31 (-5) on the challenging Hop Meadow course, which included four consecutive birdies. The entire team played beautifully, including Reed Ghriskey ‘26 who shot 35 (-1), Blake Burke ‘25 (37), Brody DiBeneditto ‘26 (38), Daniel Venture ‘24 (38), and Julien Kocatas ‘26 (40). A wonderful day for the boys as they prepare for the Western New England Invitational at Bulls Bridge GC next Wednesday.
